Below are descriptions of all the exciting fitness classes we offer here in Martello Fitness, but first there are a few things that apply to all of our classes.
– Every single class we offer is open to any level of fitness, if it is literally your first time in a gym or you’re an olympic athlete.. our team of expert instructors can regress or progress everything in the class, you just need to be open to communicate your needs and accept their expert help
– Please book your class through the online booking platform (Speak to reception if you’re unsure) While we allow drop in sessions, if the room is full or we have no bikes free we cannot kick out someone who booked ahead of time
– Bring a towel and bottle of water to the class
– More important than the water and towel.. bring the energy you want to receive! We don’t expect you to be the strongest, fastest or most perfect athlete.. we expect you to trust us to give you the workout you’re capable of

1. Spin: A high-energy cardio workout on stationary bikes, designed to improve cardiovascular fitness and burn calories. With varied speeds and resistance, Spin classes suit all fitness levels and keep energy levels high with motivating music and a team atmosphere. (limited to 16 people)
2. StrengthX: A hybrid class combining strength and endurance training, inspired by some of the worldwide fitness competition trends that have recently become popular. StrengthX challenges participants with dynamic exercises, building both muscle and stamina, making it perfect for those looking to push their fitness to the next level.
3. Bootcamp: A total-body workout using a variety of movements like squats, lunges, and bodyweight exercises. Bootcamp sessions are designed to increase strength, endurance, and agility through high-intensity intervals, keeping you motivated and moving.
4. Mobility & Abs: A class focused on flexibility, joint mobility, and core strength. This session is ideal for improving range of motion, relieving tension, and strengthening the core muscles, helping you move better and avoid injuries.
5. Circuits: A fast-paced class where participants rotate through different stations targeting various muscle groups. Circuits combine strength and cardio exercises to maximize calorie burn and build functional strength in a time-efficient format.
6. Exercise to Retro Music: A fun, nostalgia-filled workout that combines classic dance based exercises with music from past decades. Suitable for all fitness levels, this class keeps you moving and grooving to the beat while staying active. Run by our star Marcella Ryan
7. Kettlebell Flow: A unique class that combines strength and fluidity using kettlebells. You’ll move through sequences that challenge stability, coordination, and core strength, making it a fantastic workout for functional fitness enthusiasts. Led by our kettlebell expert Ross O’Grady
8. Upper Body Blast: Focused on building strength and definition in the upper body, this class targets the chest, back, shoulders, and arms through weight-based and bodyweight exercises, delivering a comprehensive workout for improved muscle tone.
9. StrengthCon: A strength and conditioning class designed to develop power and endurance. Through varied exercises and functional movements, StrengthCon pushes your limits while building resilience and overall fitness.
10. Pilates and Core: A low-impact class that emphasizes core strength, balance, and alignment. Pilates and Core is ideal for improving posture, flexibility, and core stability, making it a great option for beginners and advanced members alike.
11. Coaches Choice: This mystery class changes each session based on the coach’s expertise and creativity. Expect a unique mix of exercises and styles, from strength and cardio to flexibility and agility work. Perfect for those who enjoy variety in their routine!
12. Bodyblast: A high-intensity workout that targets all major muscle groups for a full-body burn. Bodyblast is structured with dynamic exercises that promote fat loss, muscle toning, and endurance, making it a crowd favorite. (30 minute express lunch time session)
13. Mobility: A class dedicated to improving flexibility, joint mobility, and functional movement. Mobility classes are ideal for active recovery days or for those looking to improve their range of motion and reduce muscle stiffness.
14. BLT (Bums, Legs & Tums): This class is all about strengthening and toning the lower body and core. With exercises that target glutes, legs, and abs, BLT is a fun, effective way to build muscle and boost confidence.
15. Fitball: A stability ball class that combines core-strengthening exercises with balance work. Fitball focuses on engaging stabilizer muscles, improving posture, and enhancing functional strength through unique, low-impact movements. Cathy McGivney our fitball specialist manages to build the type of energy you would expect to see in a night club in this class
16. Strength with Roma: Led by our experienced instructor Roma, this strength-focused class uses weights and bodyweight exercises to build muscular strength and endurance. Expect a solid workout that emphasizes proper technique and form.
