Hi Folks,
I want to give you an update on the progress of the pool reopening project, both in terms of the work happening on site and where we currently stand with funding.
Despite the huge progress we have made, we still face a funding gap of €240,845 to complete the project.
That is a substantial shortfall, and we still have a long way to go in reducing the amount the PSLC will ultimately need to borrow, and the impact that financing will have on other projects and investment right across the PSLC.
More than €859,000 has now been secured, through government and local government support, club funding and the incredible generosity of our members and wider community.
On site, the old pool roof has now been fully removed. Thankfully, the weather has been on our side and the new steel structure arrived today, allowing work on the replacement roof to begin. We expect this stage to be completed within the next couple of weeks.
Once the new roof is in place, we will complete the pool tiling project, with the aim of reopening the pool in mid-October.
Donations from our generous members and local community, ranging from €20 to an anonymous donation of €10,000 this week, all go towards our funding needs, and we are immensely grateful for every donation of every size.

Another important way to support the PSLC is simply to use the club. Whether it is for sport, coffee, meeting friends for a bite to eat or watching live sport in the Southern Cross Bar, every visit helps support the club.
